Privacy policy
In effect from . This is the first version of this page.
This page is the formal notice. If you want the same subjects in plain language, with the reasoning behind each decision, the trust and safety page says the same things in the way we would say them out loud. Where the two differ, this page is the one that governs.
Who we are
BizThread AI is a service run by The BizChemists, a company registered in Bangladesh holding a government trade licence. In this policy, we and us mean The BizChemists.
You can reach us about anything on this page at bizthreadai@gmail.com or on WhatsApp at +880 1730 867894. A person reads both.
The two relationships this covers
Everything below depends on which of these you are, so it is worth separating them first.
- You are visiting this website. Reading these pages, or sending us the enquiry form. For this, we decide what is collected and why, so we are responsible for it.
- You are a shop or creator using BizThread. We handle your customers' messages on your instructions, for your business. You decide what we do with them; we carry it out. Your own privacy notice should tell your customers that a service provider handles those conversations, and we will send you wording for it if you ask.
- You messaged a shop that uses BizThread. Your message was answered by software working for that shop. The shop decides what happens to it. If you want your messages removed, the fastest route is to ask that shop, and you can also write to us at bizthreadai@gmail.com and we will pass it on and act on it.
What this website collects
Three things, and nothing else.
- The enquiry form. Your name, phone number, business name, the plan you are interested in, your email address if you give one, your message, and which page you sent it from. Your IP address is included in the email so we can block abuse. The email is the only copy: it goes to our inbox, and it is not written to any database or added to a mailing list.
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies and records a shortened version of your IP address, the pages you open, and rough location at city level. We do not use it to identify anybody, and there are no advertising pixels on this site.
- Ordinary server logs. The web server records requests the way every web server does, including the IP address that made them. We do not analyse these, and they are lost whenever the site is redeployed.
We use the enquiry form data to reply to you and to talk about whether BizThread suits your business. We use the analytics to decide what to write and what to fix.
What the service handles for a shop
When a shop connects its page, BizThread processes the following on that shop's behalf:
- Conversations from Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp between the shop and its customers.
- Order details inside those conversations: the item, size, price, delivery address and phone number.
- The product list, prices, delivery rules, FAQs and files the shop gives us so the AI can answer correctly.
- A record of every message the AI sent, when it sent it, and why, so the owner can read back what was said in their name.
We connect through Meta's official Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp Business APIs. We never hold a shop owner's Facebook password, we never log in as them, and we never touch a personal profile, a friends list or a page that has not been connected.
Customer conversations are not used to train any AI model, and nothing from one shop's page is used to improve the service for another.
What we never collect
- Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp passwords. Access is granted on Meta’s own screen and can be withdrawn there without asking us.
- Card or bank details. When we have chosen a payment provider, it will hold those and we will name it here.
- Anything from a personal profile, a friends list, or a page that has not been connected.
Who else receives it
We name them rather than writing "trusted partners". Each one receives only what it needs to do its job.
- OpenAI and Google. They run the AI models that write the replies. A customer's message is sent to one of them so a reply can be written. Which one depends on how much the question has to weigh up.
- Hostinger. The servers this site and our software run on are rented from Hostinger.
- Google. Analytics for this website, and the mailbox that receives the enquiry form.
- Meta. The messages travel over Meta's platforms, which is where they already were. Meta's own terms govern that part.
- A payment provider. Not chosen yet. When it is, it will be named here and the date on this page will change.
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not give it to anyone else except where the law requires it.
Where it is stored, and where it goes
Our software and this website run on servers rented from Hostinger. The AI models run outside Bangladesh, which means that when a customer message is answered, that message is sent abroad to be read by the model and the reply comes back. Google Analytics data is also processed outside Bangladesh.
If that matters to your business, say so before you connect a page and we will tell you exactly which provider would handle your chats.
How long we keep things
- Enquiries from this website: kept in our mailbox while we are talking, and deleted on request.
- A shop’s conversations, orders and message records: kept while the account is open, so the owner can read back what was said. Deleted within 30 days of the account closing, or sooner if asked.
- What we wrote down to set the AI up, such as the product list and the rules: deleted within 30 days of a request, or when the account closes.
- Google Analytics: Google keeps this on its own schedule, and we have it set to the shortest period the product allows.
We may keep a record of a payment or an agreement for longer where we are required to.
How to ask for your data to be deleted
Email bizthreadai@gmail.com with the word Delete in the subject line, and tell us which of these you are: a visitor to this site, a shop using BizThread, or a customer who messaged a shop. Include the page name or the phone number the messages came from, so we can find the right records.
We answer within 7 days and finish within 30. If you are a customer of a shop rather than the shop itself, we will act on it and tell that shop, because the records belong to their account.
A shop can also disconnect BizThread at any time from Meta's own settings, without asking us. That stops all access immediately, and deletion can follow.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- Tell you what we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete it, as described above.
- Stop using it for something you no longer agree to, including withdrawing a permission you gave us in writing.
- Give you a copy of what you gave us.
Bangladesh does not yet have a general data protection law in force. These rights are ours to give rather than something you have to claim, and we would rather write them down than wait to be made to.
Children
BizThread is sold to businesses, and this site is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child. If you think we have, write to us and we will delete it.
Keeping it safe
Access to customer conversations inside our team is limited to the people who need it, and reading a shop's past chats to set the AI up happens only after that shop has agreed in writing. Connections to this site and to our software are encrypted.
No service can promise it will never be breached. If something happens that affects your data, we will tell you what happened and what we did about it rather than hope you do not notice.
Changes to this policy
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it, and we keep the old wording. If a change matters to a shop using BizThread, such as naming a new company that receives data, we will tell that shop directly rather than quietly editing the page.
Complaints and questions
Write to bizthreadai@gmail.com. If you are not happy with the answer, say so and it will go to the people who run The BizChemists rather than stopping with whoever replied first.
